Services for Children of All Ages

Young Children’s Service (Ages 2-6)

Song, prayer,Torah stories and puppet plays make Shabbat special for our young families. Led by many talented congregants, children learn Torah stories from a special picture Torah Scroll. Child(ren) must be accompanied by parent or caregiver.

Kehillah Kids (1st–3rd grade)
10:45 am – 11:45 am, Youth Lounge
During the second half of the year, Vav (6th grade) class students are called to the Torah to chant a short verse. This special aliyah helps our students prepare for their upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. It is a wonderful experience shared by the entire family.

Tefillah Troupe (4th–6th grade)
10:45 am – 11:45 am, Lieberman Chapel
Students lead the majority of the prayers and occasionally read from the Torah. Emphasis is on honing skills with a focus on kavannah (intention) and competence.

Minyan Makers (7th grade)
9:15 am 12:00 pm, Sanctuary
A transtional period from youth services to congregational services. We hope to nuture a connection and positive experience of communal prayer that will inspire a lifetime of Shabbat prayer. Opportunities to lead parts of the service as well as present short teachings. (We expect all students to attend a minimum of 1 ˝ hrs. of this service with the hope that students will increase their time as the year progresses.) At least one parent should accompany their child at services. Zayin class may include b’nai mitzvot celebrated at other synagogues.

Shabbat Teen Experience led by Morah Miki Fine (8th– 12th grade)

The first 'Experience' will take place on Shabbat morning, September 13. A delicious lunch will follow!. The year will conclude with a great final activity.
